Moravia Achieves Record Revenues of USD 67.7 Million
2012 Total Shows 52 Percent Increase over 2011

Moravia, a worldwide leader in translation and globalization solutions, announced preliminary revenues of USD 67.7 million for the 2012 fiscal year. With a 52 percent increase over Moravia’s 2011 total of USD 44.4 million, the 2012 revenue figure is a record high for the company.

According to Tomas Kratochvil, Moravia’s CEO, the record is a result of explosive growth in the language services sector, combined with a number of Moravia-driven initiatives that fueled the company’s growth last year.
“As globalization continues to become the norm for many industries worldwide, the demand for translation and localization services is increasing dramatically,” Kratochvil said. “Moravia’s management and production teams saw the explosion coming and took steps to accommodate accelerating demand.”
In 2012, the company focused on vertical-market expansion, the IT and mobile telephony sectors, life sciences, Linguistic Quality Assurance (LQA), and managed services. Moravia also launched a new global branding campaign with the theme, “Flexible thinking. Reliable delivery,” and achieved several major milestones:
- Attaining EN ISO 13485 and EN 15038 certification for its Life Sciences unit.
- Doubling the number of its U.S. employees and adding a San Francisco office to U.S. locations in Southern California and Bellevue, Wash.
- Earning a 2011 Microsoft Preferred Supplier Program (MPSP) Excellence Award.
- Achieving SAP preferred supplier status.
According to Renato Beninatto, Chief Marketing Officer, Moravia’s worldwide staff of more than 500 localization experts also translated over 371 million words in 2012. “That’s more than 630 times the word-count in Tolstoy’s War and Peace,” he said.
