Sr. Vendor Manager - Global

The Sr. Vendor Manager (VM) defines, then implements the strategy for recruiting and managing the best linguistic resources for the team. The successful candidate will thrive with the challenge of proactively managing the supply chain within a fast moving, continuous localization program with high volume variations. The successful Sr. VM will use their strong data and analytical skills to proactively plan resourcing and ensure there is ample capacity and availability based on historical data and forecasting. Using their negotiation skills, the Sr. VM will secure high quality linguists, while adhering to the account budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • In cooperation with the Language Services department, test and qualify resources for each allocated account
  • Ensure Operations and each allocated account is provided with the best possible outsourcing solutions, considering price, quality, availability and service
  • Negotiate suppliers´ rates on a project basis for each allocated account
  • Act as the first escalation point for internal customers in Moravia and for Business Partners/suppliers
  • Build lasting relationships with our key partners that are in alignment with Moravia's strategic direction
  • Track performance of partner solutions and implement corrective actions when appropriate
  • Negotiate discounts with suppliers as needed on allocated account(s) on a yearly and/or project basis
  • Review and report on financial results related to vendor costs
  • Keep current with local market trends relevant to the locales of interest
  • Cooperate with Sales, Language Department and Operations to clearly understand existing and future partner requirements


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Fluent in English; additional language knowledge a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and assess the business impact of different processes and tool changes
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while working under pressure
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to communicate information to internal teams, partners and customers
  • Motivated leader with a mature and positive attitude, and a reliable, well organized personality
  • Proven ability to analyze figures and data
  • Strong presentations skills

Education and/or Experience

  • University degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
  • Experience in the Localization/Translation industry
  • 3+ years of supply chain development and management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Vendor Manager experience
  • Previous experience in an international environment
  • Experience in IT or service purchasing
  • Client facing communication experience
  • Team/supplier coordination experience
